The world’s oldest continually existing municipal government, the City of London Corporation’s earliest Royal Charter dates back to 1067 when William the Conqueror ordained that the City should continue to govern itself. In 2020 the Corporation continues to provide public services to the City’s residents, workers and visitors as well as to the rest of London and the nation.
